Replacement of original ornamental lighting rosettes in the Senate chamber

Renovation Focus

Plaster Magic® Solution

1.

A rare surviving rosette with original electrical socket fittings was recovered and carefully restored.

2.

Because modern light sockets are larger than historical ones, the rosette was customized to fit today’s technical requirements without compromising design integrity.

3.

The restored rosette model was molded, cast, and replicated.

4.

Each new rosette was installed to preserve the chamber’s historical appearance while ensuring safe, modern functionality.

A Restoration That Honors Form and Function

This project showcases how the restoration of decorative plasterwork can evolve with modern infrastructure. The Plaster Magic® process respected the craftsmanship of the past while bringing the building’s lighting system into the present, seamlessly blending tradition with utility.
